William "Bill" Botts

Bill has over 40 years of management experience having been President, CEO, Director and/or Chairman of the Board of more than 35 public and private companies since 1978. His early focus was in the high tech arena including nuclear power, environmental controls, software, computer systems, semiconductors and technical services.

Bill spent the first 19 years of his career with Rockwell International where, in the early 70s, he became Vice President of the Environmental, Utility and Energy Systems Division. He added substantial experience in consumer products since the 1990s from his involvement with Creative Nail Design Inc., Buck Knives, Inc., Hard Candy, Inc., Impact Sports Technologies, Inc., Sara Happ Inc., and other consumer products companies. In 1998 Bill started a CAD software company in San Francisco, Vertex Design Systems, Inc.

He has been active in recent years with companies needing corporate governance, broad but practical management experience, strategic decision making, startup advice and/or turnaround help in both the high tech and consumer products segments.

Bill has served in directorship roles for public and private corporations as well as charitable and non-profit entities. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Project.net (project execution software) and Astute Networks (network acceleration semiconductors) and was for five years an outside director for HK Plastics (manufacturing), Buck Knives, director for thirteen-years (consumer products), Quality Systems, (NASDAQ software) and for four years was on the board of SmartConnect (video security systems).

He is presently a board advisor to Sara Happ, Inc. a young fast growing cosmetics company, is on the board of Impact Sports Technologies, and is a director of PureForge, Inc. a company with unique technology for vehicle brakes that last the life of the vehicle.

He serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), Mendenhall Innovation Center, and the Rebel Venture Fund board. He served for a year on the Board of Trustees of the Desert Research Institute Foundation. Bill is an active angel investor and was recently name VVA Member Emeritus.

He has BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from California Polytechnic University and did graduate work in Nuclear Engineering at UCLA.
