EMiL was initially set up under a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of Energy and the University and Community College System of Nevada to investigate fluid inclusion populations at the Yucca Mountain test site. EMiL Operates under a quality assurance program developed by the UCCSN that is qualified by the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM). EMiL is conveniently located minutes from the famous Las Vegas Strip on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus in the Technology building.
