Interested in taking a class but not sure where to start?
How you enroll for your class will depend upon your individual situation
and educational goals. To get started, read through the following categories
to determine which one is right for you. Then follow the appropriate link
to find the specific information you need.
Nondegree-Seeking Student (also referred to as a Special Student)
All students 18 years
of age or older and in good academic standing with UNLV are eligible
to attend the university as a Nondegree-Seeking Students. High
school students wishing to enroll in UNLV courses can do so through
the Early
Studies Program .
This category applies to:
Students who have not yet met the university admission
requirements or missed the application deadline but still
wish to enroll for classes.
A person wishing to enroll in a course for
personal or professional fulfillment.
Visiting
students who want to enroll in UNLV courses and then transfer
credits to their home institutions.
As a nondegree-seeking student, you are not eligible for federal
financial aid or state aid. A maximum of 24 undergraduate
credits and 15 graduate credits can be considered for transfer
credit as an admitted student.
NOTE: Remedial-level courses will not be considered as a transferable
course in the UNLV admission process. Please check the UNLV admission

Admitted Student
Any student who
intends to earn a degree from UNLV must be formally admitted. Admitted
students receive full benefits, including eligibility for financial
aid, student housing, and health benefits. Admitted students also
receive preferential registration dates each semester.

Continuing Education Student
Courses offered through the newly
formed Division of Educational Outreach are generally
considered to be for personal enrichment. Many of these courses
are noncredit; however, they may offer a CEU (continuing education
unit), which
applies toward a certificate or other program.
